CBC total 4,222. Although some observers reported continued scarcity, others reported abundance, with 1000 reported on the Hastings/Etter CBC.

1996Winter Reported from 33 south and 7 north counties throughout the state. The only birds which overwintered in the north were in Duluth, St. Louis Co. and Grand Marais, Cook Co. CBC total 1,355 (3,486 l.y.), the second lowest total in over 13 years.

1999Winter Reported from 46 counties as far north as Becker and Itasca, but none in St. Louis.
2000Spring Seen in 27 south and 16 north counties. Many late April reports south and north, but exodus completed by end of the month. Late south 4/30 Lac qui Parle FE. Late north 4/27 St. Louis TW. Recent medians 5/1 and 5/14, respectively.
2000Fall Early north 10/2 St. Louis JRN, followed by reports from Lake, Polk and Aitkin 10/6–7, and multiple counties beginning 10/14. Early south 9/23 Nicollet LWF, 10/7 Hennepin SWe, but most reports began 10/15. High counts: 11/24 Houston (300) DFN, 11/9 Cass (50) MRN, 11/5 Ramsey (48) DFJ.
2000Winter Reported from 48 counties statewide, but only the Detroit Lakes CBC in Northwest region.
2001Spring Seen in 39 south and 16 north counties. Many late April reports south, but exodus complete by end of month, except 5/7 Carver KEO, 5/8 Hennepin KEO 5/12, Winona AJB. Late north (where recent median 5/11) 4/25 St. Louis TPW.

2003Spring Observed in 19 south and 17 north counties. Apparently migrated north earlier than usual. Late south 5/3 Brown BSm, only May report. Late north (median 5/11) 4/22 St. Louis SES. Highest reported count 3/23 Wadena (45) PJB.
2003Fall Reported from every region except the Southwest. Early north 9/16 Pine JMP, 9/20 Kanabec JMP, 9/27 Itasca EO. Early south 10/6 Hennepin OLJ, 10/9 Dakota TAT. Highest reported count 10/26 Wadena (135) PJB.
2003Winter Reported from 43 counties in all regions of the state, but only Polk and Clay in the Northwest, and Wadena and Crow Wing in the North-central.
2004Spring Observed in 31 south and 16 north counties. Highest reported counts 3/16 Lac qui Parle (groups of 345, 208) BJU. Late south 5/2 Hennepin SLC and Lac qui Parle BJU, only May reports. Late north 5/8 St. Louis SLF, 5/9 Lake JWL.
2004Fall Reported from all regions. Fourth earliest north 9/14 Pine JMP, followed by 9/21 Kanabec JMP, 9/24 Polk EEF, 9/30 Cook JWL. Early south 10/11 Hennepin SLC. 10/14 Hennepin DWK.
2004Winter Reported from 8 north and 26 south counties statewide, including 12/19 Polk (Grand Forks-East Grand Forks CBC) fide DOL.
2005Spring Found in 33 south and 15 north counties. Late south 4/9 Isanti REH, an astonishing 22 days prior to the median (5/1). Late north 4/30 Wadena PJB, nine days prior to that median (5/9). Highest reported count 3/20 Cottonwood (~500) BRB.
2005Fall Reported from all regions. Third-earliest north date 9/11 St. Louis ALE. Third-earliest south date 9/17 Scott RBJ.
2005Winter Reported from 13 north and 32 south counties statewide except in Northwest. Overwintered St. Louis (3, Duluth) JRN; also reported Northeast on the Carlton-Cloquet (1) and Virgina (1) CBCs.
2006Spring Reported from 43 south and 21 north counties north in all regions. Late south 4/22 Hennepin MCA, 5/2 Washington LMS. Late north 4/24 Cass and Crow Wing RBJ, JEB.
2006Fall Reported from 28 north and 33 south counties in all regions. Early north 9/13 Cass DAY and Roseau SAS, 9/17 Lake of the Woods RJS. Record-early south 9/10 Ramsey REH; no subsequent south reports until 10/3 Hennepin SWe, 10/9 Sherburne PLJ and Washington RBJ.
2006Winter1340 Well represented across the north in 13 counties, the same as last year. Seen throughout the south. High count 1/21 Lac qui Parle (250) BJU.
2007Spring2743 Late south 4/25 Kandiyohi RBW, 5/5 Goodhue SWe (median 5/1). Late north 4/24 St. Louis TPW, 4/25 Kittson RBJ, DAC (median 5/7).
2007Fall2131 Early north (median 9/22) 9/25 St. Louis PHS, 9/29 St. Louis PHS, DWR, 9/30 Cass BAW, ALB. Early south (median 9/30) 10/4 Lincoln BJU, 10/6 Meeker DMF, 10/10 Fillmore NBO. Season high count 10/17 St. Louis (88) PHS.
2007Winter1135 Reports down slightly from last year, but across a broad swath of the state from Beltrami and Hubbard Counties in the north, southwest to Traverse and Lac qui Parle Counties in the West-central region, then southeast to Washington County in the East-central region, and Martin in the South-central region, and east to Houston County. Also found in St. Louis and Cook counties in the Northeast. CBC high counts were Winona (436) and Bloomington (431).

2008Winter1441 Somewhat more reports than in recent years. North reports widespread except extreme Northwest. Northeast reports include 1/15 St. Louis (2) JWL and 1/17 Cook (2) SMc, suggesting over-wintering. High counts 12/19 Redwood (172) RJS, 12/20 Stearns (160) MJB. CBC high count 365 (Bloomington).

2009Winter1741 Reported from about the same number of counties as last year, from throughout the state and season. High counts 1/2 Wright (141) JFR, 12/23 Meeker (97) MJB, 1/3 Wright (94) JCC. CBC high count 1/3 Northern Wright Co. (532).
2010Spring2147 Late south 4/20 Goodhue RPl, 5/9 Mower RTP (median 5/2). Late north 4/20 Cook DMB, 4/22 St. Louis SES, 5/8 Morrison FGo (median 5/7). The vast majority of reports are prior to mid-April.

2011Winter1547More reports than any of the previous five years. Observed in most counties south of an arc from Clay east to Cass and St. Louis. Mostly absent from the far Northwest and North-central regions, with the exception of 12/18 Marshall HHD, RAE. High counts 1/25 Goodhue (150, Prairie Island) GJM, 1/16 Winona (100, Whitewater W.M.A.) MJB. CBC high counts 12/17 Winona (238), 12/17 Rochester (136).
2012Spring2950 High count 3/10 Lac qui Parle (~170, Section 25, Walter Twp.) BJU. Late south 4/26 Dakota (2) DVe, Hennepin (4) SSp, 4/28 Brown JSS (median 5/2). Late north 4/29 St. Louis (9) JLK, 4/30 Kittson (2) TrB, St. Louis AM, followed by one much later 5/26 St. Louis (2, Ash River area) JeA (median 5/7).
